Village of Shorewood seeking candidates for village clerk

There is a vacancy in the village clerk position in Shorewood and the village president is accepting resumes from interested applicants.

While the Village Clerk is an elected office, the village president will fill the position by appointment with approval of the village board. The person appointed will serve until the vacancy is filled by election in April of 2019.

The village clerk must be a registered voter in Shorewood and must meet all other statutory requirements. The clerk must attend all meetings of the president and the board of trustees and prepare board minutes along with other duties required by state statute and local ordinance. The clerk's compensation is $616.99 per month.

Applicants should submit a resume to Village President Richard Chapman at 1 Town Center Blvd., Shorewood, 60404 on or before Aug. 10 at 4:30 p.m. Questions can be directed to Chapman at rchapman@vil.shorewood.il.us.
