Vital Wellness Center plans to be bigger, better in new digs

ELBURN – With health care problems on the rise, Vital Wellness Center couldn’t have picked a better time to expand its business.

When Dr. David Foss opened Vital Wellness Center in 2002 at 108 Valley Drive, Suite F, in Elburn, the business started as a chiropractic practice and over the years has grown into so much more.

“Although people think of chiropractic therapy as cracking necks and backs,” Foss said. “It’s so much more than that. It’s like if you only used your smartphone as a calculator.”

Foss explained that the entire nervous system connects and controls everything in the body – reproductive, digestive, respiratory, and circulatory systems – so improving the nervous system through neurological function chiropractic treatment, can help problems such as allergies, ADHD, asthma, depression, anxiety and fertility.

Due to the growth of the Center over the years, Foss plans to nearly double his square footage when the Vital Wellness Center moves at the end of August to 880 N. Main Street, also in Elburn.

“We needed more space for growth,” owner Dr. David Foss said. “I want to be able to offer more services to deal with challenges, such as autism, ADHD, asthma and allergies for the kids; and chronic diseases and health conditions, such as cancer, diabetes and heart diseases for the adults.”

Foss knows these problems are not diminishing and will continue to rise, so his purpose is to educate the community about what’s causing these health problems, how to prevent them and how to safely, naturally heal them.

“I do not provide a treatment for any disease,” Foss said. “I strictly help the patient find a way to get the body to heal from the inside out. I want to be known as the ‘wellness oasis’ of Elburn and the Fox Valley area.”

The Vital Wellness Center offers a variety treatments, including rhythmic movement training, essential oils, and nutritional supplements. Rhythmic movement training, according to Foss, helps with neurodevelopment disorders, such as autism, ADHD and other learning disorders. Foss referred to essential oils as "Earth's original medicine." The nutritional supplements provide the building blocks for healthy cells and help the body recover from eating poorly, Foss said.

Three new treatments will be offered at the new location. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy increases the healing of wounds and injuries by saturating the body with oxygen through a total body chamber, according to Foss. Vitamin D light therapy helps to combat depression, postpartum depression, and even eczema and psoriasis, Foss stated. The Center will also be getting an infrared sauna, which is an effective tool for natural healing and prevention to help with detoxification, aches, pains and relaxation, Foss said.

Foss is passionate about correcting the causes of a disease rather than medicating.

“Healing a child from the inside out and giving the parents hope that it can happen is amazing,” he said. “We are changing the nervous system here. Lives are being affected and improved every single day.”
