DOWNERS GROVE – U.S. News and World Report has named Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital as one of the top hospitals in Illinois.
Good Samaritan was placed 10th in the state in the magazine’s 2017-18 “Best Hospitals in Illinois” list. The hospital was joined by six other Advocate hospitals ranked among the top 25 in the state, according to a hospital news release.
“These new rankings recognize the commitment and passion of our physicians, nurses and associates, and that they are making a real difference in the health outcomes of our patients,” said Dave Fox, president of Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital. “We continue to make good on the Advocate promise that we are first and foremost a safe, clinical enterprise.”
The report specifically commended the hospital’s gastroenterology and gastrointestinal surgery, geriatrics, orthopedics, pulmonology and urology departments, as well as its heart bypass, heart failure, colon cancer surgery, chronic pulmonary disease treatment and hip replacement surgeries, the release stated.
The highest finisher in the Advocate system was Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, named fourth in both Illinois and the Chicago area.
Other Advocate hospitals honored with a Top Hospital recognition include Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, Advocate Sherman Hospital in Elgin, Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago and Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington.
