Presbyterian Church has new pastor

PRINCETON — Susan (Sue) Davis Krummel is the interim/transitional pastor at First Presbyterian Church in Princeton.

She started Jan. 1, and comes to this work after serving at the regional and national levels of her denomination as well as serving as pastor of churches of all sizes in Illinois and Iowa. She lives in Peoria, her hometown, with her spouse, Forrest Krummel, who is senior pastor at First Federated Church in Peoria. She is the mother of two professors of education and grandmother of six.

The First Presbyterian Church in Princeton is preparing to celebrate its 180th anniversary this fall. The original Presbyterian Church members had come to Princeton as members of Hampshire Colony and formed their own congregation in the fall of 1837.

Over the years the members of the church have served the community through many mission projects of their own as well as the community efforts in which they have joined. They look forward to the years ahead as ones in which they continue to share the good news of God’s love in Jesus Christ with their neighbors from their building on Park Avenue East.
