Police: Crest Hill 7-Eleven robbed

Investigators seeking leads

CREST HILL – Masked bandits held up a 7-Eleven on Plainfield Road in Crest Hill early Thursday morning, police said.

Police officers were reportedly dispatched about 5 a.m. to the convenience store at 1800 Plainfield Road, Crest Hill. The 7-Eleven is just north of the intersection of Larkin Avenue and Plainfield Road.

"Two people came in with their faces covered, faced the counter clerk and produced a weapon,” Crest Hill Police Chief Ed Clark said Friday.

“They made off with an undisclosed amount of money,” Clark said.

Clark said the department doesn’t have a description of the getaway car at this time, nor a description of the robbers, other than that they had their faces covered.

The investigation is ongoing. Clark said anyone with information about the robbery can call the Crest Hill Police Department at 815-741-5115 and ask to speak to investigators.
