Romeoville house fire causes extensive damage

The Lockport Township Fire Protection District responded to a house fire in the village of Romeoville on Monday morning that they were able to bring under control in 15 minutes.

The fire, in a single-family home in the 1900 block of Brimstone Road, caused extensive damage to the residence. The residents, despite initial reports to the contrary, were not home at the time and the home was unoccupied.

Lockport was assisted by Romeoville and Plainfield Fire Departments at the scene.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
