ST. CHARLES – The week of Sept. 18, Judge Family Chiropractic in St. Charles was full of celebrations for its 10th anniversary, with several events for current patients, potential patients and the public.
Dr. James Judge is proud to have been in the St. Charles community for the past 10 years and to be a chiropractor.
“My sister and I are fourth-generation chiropractors,” Judge said. “There are 35 chiropractors in our family. The first was in 1925.”
Judge was the 28th chiropractor in his family, and his sister, Kalie Judge, was the 32nd, joining her brother’s practice four years after he opened – just a few days after she graduated.
Most people think of chiropractors as doctors who adjust – or crack – one’s back every few weeks or months and send the person on his or her way. Not the case at Judge Family Chiropractic.
Judge opened his practice with the philosophy that diseases are reversible and people need to figure out how to restore their own body’s natural functioning process to cure itself of a disease.
Judge is able to look at the entire body and teach his patients the importance of quality food and quality fitness to get the body back to the shape it was designed to be in.
“Whether that is a young child or a 95-year-old,” Judge said. “I’m adding life to people’s years, not years to people’s lives.”
What’s different about Judge Family Chiropractic is its “5 Essentials” delivery system, which seeks to be a complete and effective way of establishing good health and helping patients understand why physical and mental health is important and how to sustain that health.
The “5 Essentials” to help a body restore its own power and performance include a healthy mind, spinal correction, quality nutrition, physical fitness and minimized toxins.
Judge said he references a Benjamin Franklin quote often: “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.”
“I want my patients to come back to see me because they’re healthy and they want to continue staying healthy, not because they’re sick,” Judge said.
At Judge Family Chiropractic, the staff teaches its patients to change their lifestyle to prevent disease. Judge said studies have proved that 90 percent of all cancers are due to lifestyles, not DNA.
“We help them create positive mindsets, eat right, exercise, detoxify their bodies and help them feel better overall,” Judge said.
“If we can change their lifestyle, we can change their statistic. The best cure is never getting diagnosed in the first place.”
