Image 1 of 2

Danny Daigle

Height: 5-foot-10

Weight: 160

Year: Junior

The junior running back and defensive back rushed for 138 yards on eight carries in a 52-26 Cary-Grove victory over Jacobs in Week 4. Daigle scored two touchdowns and grabbed an interception on defense. Readers of the Northwest Herald voted Daigle the football player of the week.

What's more fun: Scoring a touchdown or catching an interception? Scoring a touchdown because I haven't been on offense since I was young. I haven't scored a touchdown since eighth grade.

What's your favorite sports moment? Being able to play varsity with my older brother (David Daigle) last year. That was pretty cool.

Do you have a pregame ritual? I do. I listen to music when I come home and I talk to my dad about the game.

What do you usually eat before a game? Usually when I get home I eat a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

Is there anybody you style your game after? I wouldn't say I style my game after anyone. But definitely my favorite player would be (Arizona Cardinals safety) Tyrann Mathieu.

Who's your biggest hero? I'd have to say my dad (Dave Daigle). He has always supported me through everything my entire life and he has coached me in almost all my sports.

Do you have any nicknames? Most of my friends usually call me Daigs.

Do you have any hobbies outside sports? Catching snakes and playing video games.

Catching snakes? How do you go about catching a snake? I go to a forest preserve near my house and look under logs, walk through the forest. I'll usually catch about 10 snakes a day.

Really? What do you do with them? I just let them go. It's just cool to look at them.

Do you have any hidden talents, other than catching snakes? I wouldn't say I have any hidden talents.

Who's your funniest teammate? (Junior quarterback and linebacker) Ben McDonald. Whenever I look at him he makes me laugh. He says the stupidest things. Just a funny kid.

Name three things you couldn't go a day without? Football, video games and my phone.

What's your favorite movie? "Remember the Titans."

What's your favorite meal? Crab.

Who's your favorite athlete who's not a football player? Bo Jackson.
