SHEFFIELD — Terri L. Simon, 59, of Sheffield passed away Sunday, Sept. 24, 2017, at University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa.
She was born Jan. 13, 1958, in Princeton to Judy (Simon) Dyke.
She was a graduate of Princeton High School. She had worked for Nashville Greyline Tours in sales and as a guide. She started at the Bureau County Republican as a part-time photographer in 1994 and became the editor in 2003, a position she currently held.
She was a member of Princeton Rotary and was instrumental in forming Business Buddies, a classroom project for Princeton Elementary students. She had a passion for writing, traveling, sketching, music and cooking.
Surviving are her mother, Judy Dyke; her life partner, Kathryn Clark; her Golden Girl, Purrcee; sisters of the heart, Pam Marsh, Rebecca Clark-Lloyd and Kim Moriarity; three cousins, Debbie (Curt) Rowland, and Dennis and Mark Greene; three second cousins, Jeff Simon, Kim (Scott) Bauer and Rebekah Rowland; two aunts, Myrna Simon and Beverly Weir; and extended loving family.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, August Fred and Ruby Simon; an uncle, Greg Simon; and an aunt, Shirley Schmotzer.
Services will be at 9 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 28, at the Norberg Memorial Home in Princeton with Pastor Scott Schmidt officiating. Private burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Princeton.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 27, at the funeral home. A time of prayer will be at 6:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Sheffield Food Pantry or to the family for a memorial set up in Terri’s memory.
