John J. Hackett

POLO – John J. Hackett, 89, of Polo, died Saturday, Sept. 23, 2017, at Polo Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center. John worked for Imeco Inc. in Polo for more than 20 years before their closing.

John was born Jan. 6, 1928, in Faribault, Minnesota, the son of John and Christine Hackett. He was a veteran, serving in the Navy.

Survivors include his daughter, Jackie (Larry) Bott of Shannon; stepdaughters, Charlotte Heavener of Polo and Debbie Wadsworth of Rockford; sister, Mary Hackett of Florida; brother, Leo Hackett of Faribault; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Rita; his second wife, Yvone Doeden; brothers, George, Joe, Pat, and Francis Hackett; stepdaughter, Jackie Carroll; and stepson, Jim Doeden.

Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday at Polo Family Funeral Home, 110 E. Dixon St., and a 10 a.m. graveside service Thursday at Fairmount Cemetery in Polo.
