Crossroads school renamed to Cronin in rededication ceremony

Several community members, local dignitaries and staff attended the Troy Cronin Elementary School rededication ceremony this month, where Troy Crossroads Elementary School in Shorewood was renamed in honor of the educational legacy of the Cronin family.

The Cronins were land donors for the first one-room schoolhouse in the area in 1862, were teachers in Troy schools, and remain involved in education today as curators at the original Troy schoolhouse, now located at Joliet Junior College.
