BATAVIA – There's been a change in ownership at Aliano's Ristorante, a destination for Italian food in downtown Batavia.

Two brothers – Danny and Amir Aslam – took over the business July 1. Hours have been changed to 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. seven days a week, with closing set at 10 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.

A new menu is being released that will continue to showcase traditional Italian food, with new dishes being added to the roster of specialties, Danny Aslam said.

Portions will be generous and good service will be emphasized, he said, adding, “It’s really good being here.”

Lunch will be available from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. daily, and Aliano’s will continue to offer gluten-free pizza and pasta options.

Next door to the restaurant with its Italian-inspired interior is Aliano’s Express, which handles takeout and catering orders.

That space focuses on carryout, but has several tables in case someone wants to enjoy a slice right away, Danny Aslam said.

“We’re going to have only one menu,” he said of both enterprises. “People can take out the actual things we have in the dining room.”

The new phone number for both sites is 630-406-9400, and their hours also are the same.
