Betty Lindner

LASALLE — Betty (Bildhauer) Lindner, 97, of LaSalle passed away peacefully on Thursday, Oct. 26, 2017, in Heritage Healthcare in Peru.

She was born Dec. 14, 1919, in LaSalle to Mathias and Mary (Koplenik) Bildhauer. She married George “Gig” Lindner on Nov. 18, 1939, in St. Roch’s Church in LaSalle.

Betty attended LaSalle-Peru High School. Betty worked at Westclox, L-P cafeteria, Walgreens and Blakeley’s Department Store until it closed.

Betty was a member of St. Patrick’s Church, where she had been active in St. Ann’s Sodality and Ladies of Charity. She was also a member for more than 50 years of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas. She was also a member of LP Elkettes and American Legion Auxiliary.

She had been a former Girl Scout leader and volunteered at the Illinois Veterans Home in LaSalle for many years. She enjoyed playing cards, bus trips to the gambling boat and watching the Cubs.

She is survived by her daughter, Nancy (Chuck) Loebach of Granville; two granddaughters, Heidi and Becky Loebach; her twin sister, Dorothy Kolanowski; many nieces and nephews; and a son.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George, on March 15, 1990; a daughter, Mary Beth, in infancy; one brother, Mathias Bildhauer; and four sisters, Mary “Mitz” Piletic, Agnes Harth, Josephine Brongel and Jane McConnell.

A Mass of Christian burial will be at 3 p.m. Monday, Oct. 30, in St. Patrick’s Church in LaSalle with the Rev. John Harth, her godson, officiating. Burial will be in St. Vincent’s Cemetery in LaSalle.

Visitation will be in the church on Monday from 1:30 p.m. until the time of services.

Pallbearers will be Bill Rogowski, Jim Dellinger, Mel and Phil Harth, Larry Loebach, Dave Weiden and Christopher Stillson.

Memorials may be directed to the donor’s choice.
