Illinois Supreme Court appoints Salvi circuit judge

WAUKEGAN – The Illinois Supreme Court on Friday appointed Joseph V. Salvi a circuit court judge for Lake County's 5th Judicial Sub-circuit.

Salvi’s appointment will take effect Jan. 2, according to a news release from Salvi's office. He will seek election for circuit court judge in the November 2018 general election.

The 5th Sub-circuit includes Barrington, Lake Barrington, Barrington Hills, North Barrington, Port Barrington, Fox River Grove, Island Lake, Lake Zurich, Lakemoor, Round Lake, Tower Lakes, Volo, Wauconda and parts of Deer Park, Fox Lake, Grayslake, Hawthorn Woods, Kildeer, Round Lake Beach, Round Lake Heights and Round Lake Park.

Salvi was first appointed associate judge of the 19th Judicial Circuit in 2013, where he was assigned to the criminal division until 2015 – and most recently, the civil and family division.
