STERLING – Eastland senior hitter Katie Krogman has benn named to the Sauk Valley Media All-Area Volleyball Team’s First Team.
The All-Area Team was announced in Saturday’s edition of SV Weekend.
Krogman finished the season with 309 kills, third among players in the newspaper’s coverage area. She also had 170 digs, 40 blocks and 28 aces for the Cougars.
Krogman was first-team selection on the NUIC West all-conference team.
Also named to SVM’s All-Area Team were Sterling freshman hitter Brooklyn Borum, Sterling junior hitter/setter Josi Borum, Oregon senior hitter Gylian Finch, Sterling freshman libero Lexi Rodriguez, and Oregon senior libero Aleah Wright.
Finch was named the paper’s Player of the Year. Newman’sDebbi Kelly was Coach of the Year.
Milledgeville senior Rebecca Waite was named to the SVM All-Area Second Team. She had 264 kills, 26 aces, 81 digs, 121 assists and 39 blocks for the Missiles. She also was a first-team selection to the NUIC East all-conference team.
Eastland junior Gabby Snyder earned Special Mention on the SVM team.
