Sheila J. Fowler

ROCK FALLS – Sheila J. Fowler, 78, of Rock Falls, died Thursday, Dec. 28, 2017, at CGH Medical Center in Sterling. She worked for Tri County Opportunities Council for 17 years.

She was born June 19, 1939, in Sterling, the daughter of Lelia and Gladys (Latta) Witherow. She married Vernon K. Fowler on Sept. 12, 1957, in Rock Falls. He preceded her in death on Dec. 15, 2005.

She is survived by a daughter, Kathleen Hey of Rock Falls; two sons, Ron (Julie) Fowler of Rochelle and David (Dawn) Fowler of Rock Falls; a sister, Iris (Ron) Clevenger of Albuquerque, New Mexico; 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with Pastor Dalmus Meeks officiating. Cremation will follow.

A memorial has been established.
