Mary Katherine McGonigle

ROCK FALLS – Mary Katherine McGonigle, 88, of Rock Falls, died Thursday, Jan. 4, 2018, at CGH Medical Center in Sterling.

Mary was born Nov. 11, 1929, in Walnut Hill, the daughter of John J. and Daisy B. (Howard) Hiltibidal. She married Kent McGonigle on July 5, 1952, in Dixon.

Survivors include grandson, Jacob Wiederanders and Kelly Lynch; great granddaughter, Lilly Lynch; brothers, Gerald “Jerry” and wife, Nancy Hiltibidal of Leroy, and James Rodney and wife, Joyce Hiltibidal of Oceana, West Virginia; sisters, Shirley Hill of Savanna, and Sandra and husband Phillip Venezia of Centralia.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kent McGonigle in 2014; daughter, Linda Wiederanders in 1992; son, Kelly McGonigle in 2014; infant brother; and mother and father.

Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Saturday at Schilling Funeral Home and Cremation in Sterling. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, following visitation. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Sterling.
