The Kendall County State’s Attorney’s Office will be getting a new second-in-command prosecutor, State’s Attorney Eric Weis announced to the County Board at its Tuesday, Jan. 16, meeting.
Montgomery resident Mark Shlifka, currently a felony trial supervisor with the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office, will start on Feb. 13, Weis said. Shlifka will be replacing former First Assistant State’s Attorney Nemura Pencyla, who left the office in August.
Weis told the board that Shlifka is a “career prosecutor” with about 30 years of experience as a criminal prosecutor.
