Everett W. Smith

DIXON – Everett W. Smith, 76, of Dixon, died Saturday, Jan. 20, 2018, at his home. He was a master journeyman machinist for more than 30 years until his retirement from Henry Pratt Co. in Dixon.

Everett was born Aug. 1, 1941, in Tell City, Indiana, the son of Everett C. and Mildred (Snyder) Smith. He married Connie Rae on Jan. 21, 1961, in Racine, Wisconsin. They divorced.

Survivors include three daughters, Darlene (Randy) Abell of Georgia, Barbara Landers of Derby, Indiana, and Penny (Les) Smith Scott of Paola, Kansas; one son, Ray Smith of Cannelton, Indiana; one brother, Rick Smith of Cannelton; two sisters, Patricia Stevens of Tell City, Indiana and Brenda K. Mayer of Texas; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his significant other, Carolyn Crawford of Dixon and her family; and many other friends and family.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Preston-Schilling Funeral Home in Dixon handled arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to Serenity Hospice.
