Joan E. Tripp

HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. – Joan Elizabeth (Lovett) Tripp, of Hendersonville, passed away peacefully Monday, Feb. 5, 2018, at Elizabeth House in Hendersonville, after her year-long battle with cancer.

Joan was born Sept. 18, 1959, in Dixon, and was a 1981 graduate of Duke University. She was an avid runner, compassionate educator, and accomplished musician, who enjoyed playing clarinet in the Hendersonville Community Band. A loving mother and beloved wife, Joan’s number one priority was always her family.

She is survived by her loving husband of 31 years, Tim; four children, Emily, Jeremy, Cameron, and Jordan; grandson, Elijah; brother, Don (Nikki); sister-in-law, Lisa; and parents, Donald and Carol Lovett.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Jeff.

The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at First United Methodist Church in Hendersonville, officiated by the Rev. Christy Sharp. Thos. Shepherd & Son Funeral Directors and Cremation Memorial Center is handling arrangements.
