Police: Merrionette Park man urinates in front of women at St. Joe's hospital

Merrionette Park man was escorted twice from hospital, police say

JOLIET – A Merrionette Park allegedly had to be escorted from Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center, but came back to urinate on the side of a building, police said.

On Thursday evening, Brett L. Toovey, 22, of the 11000 South Homan Avenue in Merrionette Park was reportedly escorted out twice by security guards at the Joliet hospital and told not to return, Joliet Deputy Police Chief Ed Gregory said in an email.

Gregory did not have information on why Toovey was at the hospital or why he was asked to leave.

Toovey allegedly returned to the hospital and urinated on the side of a building in front of female employees who were walking in to work, Gregory said.

Toovey was arrested and charged with criminal trespass to property and disorderly conduct.

He was released on his own recognizance.

On March 7, Toovey pleaded guilty to one count of theft. Additional charges – one count of theft and a single count of resisting a police officer – were dropped.

Toovey was sentenced to two years of probation.
