Students at Batavia's Holy Cross Catholic School win high school scholarships

Graduating eighth-graders earn award

BATAVIA – Holy Cross Catholic School in Batavia announced its 2018 graduating class winners of high school scholarships.

“We are so very proud of these scholarship recipients and what they have accomplished here at Holy Cross; we look forward to hearing about all the great things they do in high school and beyond,” Holy Cross Catholic School Principal Mike Puttin stated in a news release about the eighth-graders, who hail from Batavia, Geneva, Elburn, North Aurora, Sugar Grove and St. Charles.

The following is a list of scholarship recipients and the schools they plan to attend.

• Aurora Central Catholic High School: Graciela Orama and Nathan Smogur

• Marmion Academy: Ethan Czerwinski, Evan Dant and Tyler Suess

• Rosary High School: Marty Dietz, Julia Jochum, Maria Panagakis, Molly Regan, Rebecca Russell, Brooke Stumm and Lianna Surtz

• St. Francis High School: Emery Carlson and Cate Downs
