Braidwood police raided an East Reed Street residence and arrested three people Monday evening.
Officers executed a search warrant in the 300 block of East Reed about 6 p.m.
The raid was the culmination of a “long-term investigation” by the Braidwood police and the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Braidwood police said in a press release. The investigation led to the Will County States Attorney’s office issuing the search warrant and five arrest warrants.
The three arrested during the search – Alexander Martinez, 35, Jaime Acosta, 54, and Yolanda Acosta, 51 – all were booked into the Will County jail.
Martinez and Jaime Acosta both had active arrest warrants on charges of possession of heroin with intent to deliver. Yolanda Acosta was caught with 31 bags of purported heroin, police said.
“Found in the residence and on the suspects arrested was a total of 168 bags of purported heroin weighing 27.7 grams, 1.6 grams of alleged MDMA, and an unspecified amount of purported cocaine,” police said.
The Will County Forest Preserve Police, and the Braidwood Fire Department assisted in the operation.
In addition to Martinez and the Acostas, a Gardner woman was arrested in Wausau, Wisconsin, as part of the same investigation, police said.
Tara Wilson, 21, was charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and remains in custody in Wisconsin, police said.
Another man and woman – Justin M. Pilarski, 24, and Kaitlyn Pilarski, 23, both of whom are believed to have last lived in Channahon – also were charged in connection with the investigation but remain at large, police said.
The Pilarskis face charges of delivery of a look-alike substance, according to police, who asked anyone with information on their whereabouts to call 815-458-2341.
