NORTH AURORA – On April 17, officers and detectives of the North Aurora Police Department arrested an Aurora man for several felonies that occurred in the 200 block of Linn Court in North Aurora on April 16, according to a news release.
It began at 5:48 a.m. April 16, when officers were dispatched to the 200 block of Linn Court for a home invasion in progress, the release stated.
The alleged offender was known to the victim and was identified as Quincy L. Ivory, 34, of the 500 block of Rosewood Avenue, Aurora, the release stated.
The responding officer located the suspected offender in his vehicle as it left the area and attempted to stop it, but the vehicle fled at a high rate of speed and disobeyed traffic control devices so officers terminated their pursuit for the safety of other drivers, the release stated.
Officers learned that Ivory supposedly forced his way into the residence, struck the victim and stole a cellphone and $150 in cash before fleeing the scene. The victim and Ivory have children in common, the release stated.
The victim received minor, non-life threatening injuries, the release stated.
After the case was reviewed with the Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office, an arrest warrant for Ivory was issued April 17 for the following charges: home invasion, a Class X felony; residential burglary; aggravated fleeing a police officer – exceeding 21 miles per hour over the speed limit; aggravated fleeing and eluding – disobeying two or more traffic control devices; criminal damage to property – less than $500; and domestic battery – bodily harm.
Ivory’s bail was set at $100,000, the release stated.
At about 12:20 p.m. April 17, a patrol officer found Ivory’s vehicle parked in the area of the residence. Additional responding officers arrived and found that Ivory was inside and refusing to come out, the release stated. A detective was able to speak to Ivory and convince him to open the door, after which he was arrested without further incident.
Ivory was transported to the North Aurora Police Department and later transferred to the Kane County jail, where he will have a bond hearing at 8 a.m. April 18.
