First National Bank and the Kendall County Record recognized 23 Yorkville High School seniors last Wednesday who were honored as the Student of the Week in the Record during the 2017-18 school year.
Of those 23 students, five finalists were selected and interviewed by a panel of community leaders who then narrowed it down to one winner.
Patrick Black was awarded a $4,000 First National Bank/Kendall County Record Student of the Year scholarship on May 2 at a reception recognizing all Students of the Week and their parents. Black is pictured with other Yorkville High School Students of the Week. Selection of the scholarship winner is based on scholastic record, involvement in school activities, leadership and responsibility, ambition and citizenship.
In addition to Black, honored as students of the week were: Lily Emma Aktabowski, Kimberly Batdorf, Emily Berge, Madison L. Brusak, Eve Cone, Peyton Frankenreider, Christopher Gruener, Erin Hettinger, Carrigan Hobbs, Jake Holter, Huntar Jones
Maggie Klemm, Samantha McKibbon, Haley Middendorf, Eric Naumann, Reanna Panlilio, Juleah Richardson, Ben Schafermeyer, Savanna Schoof, Jackson Torok, Isabelle Westcott and Haylie Wolf.
