Antonio M. Castillo

STERLING – Antonio M. Castillo, 85, of Sterling, died Saturday, May 12, 2018, at Regency Care of Sterling. He worked for 35 years at Northwestern Steel and Wire Co. until his retirement.

Antonio was born July 31, 1932, in San Benito, Texas, the son of Jose and Teresa (Martinez) Castillo. He married Dominga Castaneda on Jan. 11, 1959. She preceded him in death on June 25, 1984.

Survivors include three sons, Antonio Castillo Jr. of Rock Falls, Randy (Pat) Castillo of Sterling, and Richard (Jennifer) Castillo of Sterling; one daughter, Rosemary (John) Thompson of Sterling; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; five sisters; four brothers; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Mary Cavazos.

He also was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Betty Castillo; two sisters; and three brothers.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls. Celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. Mary Catholic Church in Sterling. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Sterling.
