Dorothy Donaldson

GRANVILLE — Dorothy E. Donaldson, 95, of Granville passed away Sunday, May 13, 2018, at Manor Court in Peru.

She was born Dec. 30, 1922, in St. Margaret’s Hospital in Spring Valley. She was the daughter of John and Louise (Miller) Konneck. She married George E. Donaldson Jr. April 18, 1943, in Denton, Texas.

She was employed as an administrative secretary by the Putnam County Community Unit School District for 22 years, retiring in 1988.

She was a member of the Granville American Legion Auxiliary since 1946, a member of the Granville United Church of Christ, former member of the Junior Halcyon Society of her church and the Granville Keys Club.

She is survived by one son, George (Sue Cerri) Donaldson of Chillicothe; two grandchildren, Bryan (Kim Glover) Donaldson of Secaucus, N.J., and Tara (Todd) Roseboom of Chillicothe; and three great-grandchildren, McKenzie and Peyton Roseboom, and Zoe Donaldson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George, on Feb. 4, 2005; a daughter, Dahna Kay, in 1980; and her twin sister, Doris Benson.

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Monday, May 21, at the Dysart-Cofoid Funeral Chapel in Granville with the Rev. Dr. Ron McNeill officiating. There will be a private burial service at the Granville Cemetery in Granville. Visitation will be prior to the service, from 1 to 3 p.m., at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to Alzheimer’s Research Foundation or to the United Church of Christ in Granville.

Pallbearers will be Bryan Donaldson, Todd Roseboom, Robert Cerri, Wayne Benson, Del Deiss, Dave Duvall and Jim Reno.
