AMBOY – Nancy Carol Hartz, 67, of Amboy died Saturday, May 19, 2018, after a short illness.
Miss Hartz, beloved sister, aunt, teacher and friend, was born Sept. 26, 1950, in Princeton, to Dale and Lois (Meikle) Hartz. Nancy graduated from Franklin Center High School, Eureka College, and Rockford College. She taught school for 33 years in Paw Paw, retiring in 2005. She also taught Sunday school at United Methodist Church in Amboy and Franklin Grove for 51 years. Nancy loved her family, her students, everybody’s kids, her dog, and living on the farm. She was an avid Chicago White Sox fan, hearts card player and a devoted friend of her church.
Never underestimate the power of your actions. With one small gesture, Nancy changed people’s lives. God puts us all in each other’s lives to impact one another in some way. Nancy was humble, strong and kind. She left a legacy of love.
She is survived by her sister, Lela Kraber of Dixon; brother, Jerry (Linda) Hartz of Dixon; and sister-in-law, Esther Hartz of Mount Dora, Florida. She also is survived by many nieces and nephews.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Mary Gardner; and brother, Ronald Hartz.
There will be no visitation or funeral services. Mihm-Jones Funeral Home in Amboy is handling arrangements.
Memorials may be given to Franklin Grove United Methodist Church or a charity of the donor’s choice.
