DeKalb's Jefferson Elementary students were recently honored by Illinois PTA for their winning entries in the National PTA Reflections contest celebrating the arts. Seven Jefferson students won at the Regional level in their categories and went on to the state competition. They are Gianna Gooden, Intermediate Dance Choreography; Lindamarie Ebner, Intermediate Literature; Amelie Grada Romero, Intermediate Visual; Ethan Smrz, Primary Literature; Cameron Moore, Primary Visual; Nolan Tobin, Primary Photo; and Gabe Fierros, Primary Special Artist. Gooden and Tobin finished in the top 5 of the state and received Honorable Mention. The students were invited to attend the Spotlight Celebration at Milikin University for a reception and workshops.
