KAT will expand bus service to Montgomery’s Kendall residents

Kendall Area Transit, in conjunction with the village of Montgomery, has announced the expansion of service for Kendall County residents of the village beginning July 1.

KAT will provide general transit services to all Kendall County locations, plus specific medical locations outside of Kendall County, with rides costing between $2 and $5.

Village President Matt Brolley said he is very pleased that expanded KAT service will soon be available to Montgomery’s Kendall County residents.

“This is an important service that will improve the quality of life for our residents. We hope people will take advantage of this economical option for their transportation needs to medical appointments, to the grocery store, or even to work,” Brolley said.

Additional information plus a link to the KAT website can be found on the village’s website under the transportation link.

“We are excited for this new opportunity to work with the village of Montgomery and assist those residents in need of transportation options,” said Mike Neuenkirchen, KAT program director.

Neuenkirchen noted that the KAT service area only includes Kendall County. Residents in the Kane County section of Montgomery are eligible for a similar service through Kane County's Ride in Kane paratransit service. Visit rideinkane.org for information.

Kendall Area Transit is a dial-a-ride public transportation service operated by the Sycamore-based Voluntary Action Center in partnership with Kendall County government.

KAT typically operates 6 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. For more information about KAT, call 877-446-4528 or visit kendallareatransit.com.
