Lockport police detective sergeant will be promoted

The Lockport Police Department is pleased to announce that Detective Sgt. John Arizzi Jr. graduated from Northwestern University’s School of Police Staff and Command, and will be promoted to the position of commander, effective July 1.

Arizzi completed the 10-week Staff and Command Program taught in Plainfield from Jan. 8 to May 11. The program, implemented by the Center for Public Safety in 1983, has graduated more than 20,000 students both nationally and internationally. Detective sergeant Arizzi was a student in SPSC Class #428, which accommodated 47 students.

Arizzi recently obtained his undergraduate degree from Benedictine University.
