Marie Huffman

DIXON – Marie Huffman, 79, of Dixon, died Saturday, July 7, 2018, at Serenity Hospice & Home in Oregon. She worked for the Illinois Tollway for 17 years before her retirement.

Marie was born Aug. 25, 1938, in Dixon, the daughter of John and Elsie (Boone) Cox. She married Bruce S. Huffman on Oct. 29, 1965, in Dixon. He preceded her in death on Feb. 21, 1983. Marie loved all animals, especially birds and her beloved dog, Brody. She enjoyed knitting, working puzzles, and bowling. She was active in the Dixon Elk’s Lodge.

Survivors include her three children, Kim Oldman, Scott (Janine) Huffman, and Lori (Randy) Bock; and one brother, William (Deloris) Cox, all of Dixon; nine grandchildren, Ryan (Rhi) Seible, John Oldman, Caleb, Tyler, and Sierra Huffman, Jada (Jaime) Swarbrick, Amber (Chris) Sotelo, Jarryd and Kaelynn Bock; and three great-grandchildren, Cohen Seible, Daniel Sotelo, and Isaac Swarbrick.

She also was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Juanita Miller.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 p.m., and the funeral at 11 a.m. Monday at Preston-Schilling Funeral Home in Dixon, with the Rev. Dave Rogula, Serenity Hospice & Home in Oregon, chaplain officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Dixon.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to Serenity Hospice & Home in Oregon.
