Donald Mueller

PRINCETON — Donald Lee Mueller, 84, of Princeton died at 5:58 a.m. Sunday, July 22, 2018, at his home in Princeton.

He was born April 10, 1934, in Minonk Township, the son of William Tonjes and Etta Mae (Weddle) Mueller. He married Harriet Blackert Nov. 24, 1957, at the First Christian Church in Walnut. She preceded him in death on Aug. 29, 1987. He married Kathleen Prostko Thompson July 2, 1988, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Manlius. She survives in Princeton.

He graduated from Manlius High School with the Class of 1953. He served in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1956. He farmed in the rural Manlius area all of his life.

Don was a member of Walnut American Legion Post 179. He enjoyed the Army reunions every year, and he was an avid puzzler and word searcher.

Also surviving are three children, Kathy (Bryan) Carl of Walnut, Robert Mueller of Princeton and Kim (Mike Studer) Mueller of Walnut; two stepchildren, Constance Sue (Steve) Lusietto of Decatur and Ronald Charles (Connie) Thompson Jr.; nine grandchildren; eight stepgrandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; seven stepgreat-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Harriet; and three sisters and three brothers.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Friday, July 27, at the Grant-Johnson Funeral Home in Princeton. Services will be follow at noon with the Rev. Brian Moore officiating. Burial will be in Elm Lawn Memorial Park, Princeton, with military rites accorded by Walnut American Legion Post 179. A luncheon will follow at the First Christian Church in Walnut.
