Annette Schnabel accepts Princeton Rotary leadership gavel

PRINCETON — Annette Schnabel was inducted as Princeton Rotary president on June 26 at the Princeton Elks Lodge. Schnabel’s leadership will continue to focus on the importance of our area’s children and the Princeton Rotary impact on supporting the area’s organization efforts.

During her induction, Schnabel shared her vision of the Princeton Rotary’s impact to have a stronger presence within the community. Her goals include development of a Princeton Rotary Interact Club ages 12 to 18 and sponsorship of a yearly Rotary Youth Leadership Award (RYLA). An area high school youth will be selected annually to participate in a District 6420 RYLA workshop. The workshop is an intensive leadership experience where recipients will develop skills as a leader while having fun and making connections.

In the last few years, Princeton Rotary has adopted community service participation projects. Some of those ventures include a partnership with the Princeton Jaycees in the upkeep and beautification of Soldiers and Sailors Park, as well as food preparation for the annual July ZTour bike ride which benefits Zearing Child Enrichment Center in Princeton.

Knowing the impact of community collaboration, Schnabel shared the following during her induction: “Local action provides opportunity for our community’s growth.”

For anyone interested in learning more about the Princeton Rotary, meetings are held every Tuesday at noon in the Princeton Elks Lodge. Lunch is available for $9/member.
