The Crystal Lake Lions Club set a record with $67,000 in donations in the past year. This included $17,000 for local eye care.
The club has donated $200,000 in the past five years to 12 local organizations, as well as families and individuals in need.
This is the club’s 87th year of service to the Crystal Lake community.
Former President Doug Lomen expressed his appreciation for the community’s support of the group’s fundraising effort, which enabled it to set the record.
President Randy Funk said the club will continue its successful fundraisers and looks forward to donating funds on an ongoing basis.
He said the Lions Club always welcomes new members.
