Elmhurst police investigate vehicle theft at Ed Napleton Kia of Elmhurst

ELMHURST – Elmhurst police are investigating the reported July 22 theft of a Dodge Charger at Ed Napleton Kia of Elmhurst, 727 W. Grand Ave., Elmhurst.

Three male suspects of unknown ages wearing hooded sweatshirts reportedly arrived at the dealership in a red Honda SUV at about 8 p.m. July 22, Elmhurst Deputy Police Chief Mike McLean said Aug. 7.

As seen on security video at the scene, one of them entered the service area of the dealership through a broken window in the service door and then left in the stolen Dodge Charger, he said.

The Chicago Police Department recovered the stolen vehicle the morning of Aug. 7, McLean said.

No one was in custody as of 5:45 p.m. Aug. 7, and detectives are continuing to investigate, he said.
