GRAYSLAKE – The College of Lake County has named Sue Fay as executive director of human resources.
She comes to CLC from Roosevelt University, where she served for nearly 20 years in the human resources department, starting as associate director in 1998 and becoming vice president in 2016.
At Roosevelt, Fay led major initiatives in HR technology, health and welfare benefit plan expansion, retirement plan record keeping and investment advisory services.
She also managed a $14.7 million benefits budget and a $1 million departmental budget. Additionally, Fay oversaw the employment search, hiring and onboarding processes for faculty and staff.
Her experience in labor and employee relations includes implementing collective bargaining agreement terms in partnership with eight unions at the university.
She also trained and assisted managers in performance coaching and facilitated dispute resolution meetings between peer employees.
“It’s very gratifying to join a community so committed to student and employee success,” Fay said in a news release. “In my first few weeks, I have felt welcomed by many colleagues, heard their CLC stories and begun to understand who we are, why we are here and what we hope to become. I look forward to working for, and with, the faculty and staff to ensure that CLC continues to be an employer of choice for current and prospective employees.”
Fay holds a B.S. in recreation administration from Ferris State University and an M.B.A. from Dominican University.
