Michael R. Warner

ROCK FALLS – Michael Ray Warner, 71, died peacefully early in the morning Thursday, Aug. 23, 2018, from cancer, at his home in Rock Falls.

Mike was born April 9, 1947, in Galesburg, to Clarence R. and Ina B. (Woods) Warner. He graduated from eighth grade at Rock Falls Junior High School and later from Wheaton Central High School in Wheaton. He earned his associate degree in business at DuPage Community College. In June 1968, he was drafted into the Army and served in Vietnam, where he earned the rank of Sergeant, being discharged in January 1970.

Mike loved reading about a wide range of interests. He enjoyed cats and his flower gardens. He was the owner of Warner Decorating for over 30 years.

He is survived by his sister, Betty (Bill) Braden; nephew, Bill Braden; niece, Katie (Lucio) Esquivel III; nephew, Eric Coville; nephew, Ed (Susie) Coville; niece, Rebecca Bechdolt Vaugh; two great-nieces; and three great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister and brother in law, Joyce and Richard Bechdolt.

A graveside service with military honors will be at 1 p.m. Sept. 10 at Holy Cross Cemetery in Harmon. There will be no visitation, and cremation has taken place. McDonald Funeral Home & Crematory in Rock Falls is handling arrangements.
