Maria M. Bonnell

DIXON – Maria M. Bonnell, 92, of Dixon, died Thursday, Sept. 6, 2018, at her home.

She was born June 27, 1926, in Plankstadt, Germany, the daughter of Albert and Magdelena (Kuschner) Gund. She had worked at Edelmann Corp. in Dixon before her retirement in 1991.

Maria married Paul W. Bonnell Oct. 1, 1948, in Plankstadt, Germany. He preceded her in death Aug. 5, 2005.

Marie is survived by two sons, Paul L. (Judith E.) Bonnell of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Allen (Norma Jane) Bonnell of Forestville, Wisconsin; two daughters, Christina Bonnell and Sonya (Steven) Lybarger, both of Dixon; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She also is survived by her sister, Karin (Dieter) Boehm of Germany.

She also was preceded in death by one son, Michael H. Bonnell; her parents; and brother, Paul Gund.

Mom and her family extend a special thanks to Christina for all the love and care she gave our mother during her final days. We love you.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A celebration of Maria’s life will be at a later date. Jones Funeral Home in Dixon is handling arrangements.
