Jim and Donna (Rowe) Skolek of Ottawa will be celebrating their 60th Wedding Anniversary. Jim and Donna were married on September 28, 1958 in Grand Ridge. In attendance at the ceremony was Maid of Honor Carolyn Deckard of Sarasota, FL, friend of the Bride and Best Man Henry Dahl of Frankenmuth, MI, friend of the Groom.
The couple’s parents are the late Leonard and Eleanor Skolek of Ottawa and the late Carl and Vera Rowe of Grand Ridge. They have five wonderful children, Jim (JoEllen) Skolek of El Paso, the late Todd Skolek, Ron Skolek of Richardson, TX, Brian (Debbi) Skolek of Ottawa, and Kimberly (Josh) Kammerer of Ottawa.
They are also the proud grandparents of eight grandchildren, Jenica (Trent) Rarick of El Paso, Justin (Tania) Skolek of Escondido, CA, Janelle (Adam) Kamischke of Gridley, Brandon (Allie) Skolek of Ottawa, Corey Skolek of Davenport, IA, Tyler Skolek of Ottawa, and Trennon and Tannor Kammerer of Ottawa. They also have seven great-grandchildren, Gracie Skolek of El Paso, William Brumback of Escondido, CA, Samuel, James R., and Matthew Skolek of Escondido, CA, and Kaydance and Hunter Kamischke of Gridley.
Jim previously worked for Nicor Gas and Donna worked for Marriott Corporation. As manager of the Ottawa High School Cafeteria. They are enjoying their retirement together. Dinners with family and friends are planned to celebrate as well as a trip in the future.
