Route 31 crash in Crystal Lake injures 3, fire official says

A Monday evening crash in Crystal Lake injured three people and totaled two vehicles.

The crash occurred about 4 p.m. at Three Oaks Road and Route 31.

The three injured people were taken to a local hospital, Crystal Lake Fire Department Battalion Chief Chris Kopera said on the scene.

The crash totaled a Ford Mustang and an SUV. Traffic slowed to a crawl as police and firefighters worked to clear the area at 4:45 p.m.
