Edward G. Maris

DENVER – Edward George Maris died peacefully Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2018, at his home in Denver. He was 82 years old.

Born in Pittsburgh, he was the first in his family to attend college at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh. After completing flight training as a Navy pilot, he returned to Pittsburgh and married Madonna (née Zimick) in 1960, and subsequently raised five children. Ed’s professional career spanned four decades, rising to financial executive leadership positions in several large metal and chemical companies in Pennsylvania, Ohio, New Jersey and Illinois. He was known by family and friends as intelligent and caring, with a quick smile and love of family and sports.

He will be forever remembered by his wife of 58 years, Madonna Maris; sons, Dr. John (Dr. Yael Mosse) Maris, Dr. Michael (Dr. Minnie Huang) Maris and Matthew (Krissi Kelner) Maris; daughter, Meghan (Givionni Anderson) Maris; and seven grandchildren, Dylan, Jake, Noah, Elijah, Zachary, Mikayla and Taliyah.

Ed was preceded in death by his son, Thomas.

The mass of resurrection will be at 11 a.m. Oct. 12 at Christ the King Catholic Church, Eighth Avenue in Denver.
