Chronicle sports reporter Jacob Bartelson caught up with the Batavia senior and captain on his season, college possibilities and more. Below is an edited transcript.
Bartelson: I know it hasn't been the best season record-wise, but how proud are you of your guys' fight nonetheless?
Palos: I am extremely proud of the guys for being able to compete in almost every game this season. There has really only been one or two teams that we couldn’t compete with.
Bartelson: How did the upset over North help with the overall confidence?
Palos: Overall, I’ve always believed that we can compete with any team, and finally pulling out a win against a top 25 team in the area is just amazing. It made more of the guys believe in our full potential.
Bartelson: Which teammate have you been most impressed with?
Palos: This season, I have been extremely impressed by Kipp Knecht's defensive abilities. He has really stepped up in a position that we need him in, and shown that he is there to play.
Bartelson: Are you committed to a college for soccer?
Palos: At the moment I am not certain, but i’m excited to see what happens in the coming months.
