Led by record runs by Brenna Cohoon and Eddie Siuda, the Downers Grove South boys and girls cross country teams swept to repeat championships of the West Suburban Gold meets on Oct. 13.
The Mustangs' girls scored 15 points, well ahead of runner-Leyden's 72. Cohoon led from start to finish, setting a new school and course record of 17 minutes, 5 seconds. Melissa Weidner finished second in 17:33, followed by Erin Reidy in third in 17:55. Rebecca Diddia was fourth in 18:04, Becky Versaskas was fifth in 18:07, Kennedy Warden was 18:09 and freshman Alex Spang was seventh in 18:11.
The Downers Grove South boys scored 17 points to again easily beat out runner-up Morton's 66. Siuda finished first in 15:02, a new course record. John Heneghan took second in 15:12, John Norris was third in 15:14, James Weigel was fifth in 15:26, George Willer was sixth in 15:52, Canyon Stage was seventh in 15:53 and Matthew Peloso was clocked in 16:11.
Hinsdale Central was fourth and Downers Grove North six at the West Suburban Silver girls meet.
Hinsdale Central junior McKenna Revord (fifth, 18:56.7) and senior Kayla Byrne (10th) and Downers North sophomore Katie Figliomeni (14th) and junior Eva Bednard (15th).
Downers Grove North was fourth and Hinsdale Central fifth in the boys race. Downers North seniors Matt Moravec (fourth, 15:50.2) and Trevor Murphy (13th) and Hinsdale Central sophomore Piyush Mekla (10th) and senior Matt Kusak (12th) were all-conference.

Mike Fernandes, Juan Pinto, TJ McVey, Nick Renfro, Anthony Kos, Franklin Rutkowski and Chandler Hart scored goals in Benet's 7-0 win over St. Viator on Oct. 12. Rutkowski and Hans Haenicke scored goals in a 2-0 win over Notre Dame on Oct. 10.
