David R. Neel

AMBOY – David R. Neel, 84, of Amboy, died Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2018, at Dixon Rehabilitation & Health Care. He worked for Dean Foods in both Dixon and Amboy for 22 years before his retirement.

He was born March 9, 1934, in Tekamah, Nebraska, the son of Albert and Mildred (Butler) Neel. David was a veteran of the Coast Guard.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Jon Neel; daughter, Cindy Shuman; and brother, Richard “Dick” Neel.

Survivors include his children, David (Sandra) Neel Jr. of Dixon, Wendy (Mark) McLindsay of Michigan, and Sandy Hubbell and Jackie (Terry) McCollum, both of Amboy; 12 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Cremation rites have been accorded. There will be no services or visitation. Mihm-Jones Funeral Home in Amboy handled arrangements.

Memorials may be made to Teen Turf in Amboy.
