Joliet church to celebrate 71st anniversary on Oct. 28

Mount Zion Baptist Church will celebrate its 71st Church Anniversary on Oct. 28 at 402 Singleton Place Joliet.

The Friends and Family morning worship service begins at 10 a.m. The guest speaker is Edward L. Winfrey, Jr., pastor of The Way Church of Joliet. Winfrey was born and raised at Mount Zion and now pastoring his own church.

At 4 p.m., The Mt. Zion Music and Arts Ministry presents “#HomeIsZion Reunion Musical." Past choir members and musicians will come back to join in celebration through song and dance. Everyone is invited.

Mount Zion Baptist Church was organized in 1947 with eight members and has grown to over 1,300 members.
