Ron E. McDivitt

ROCK FALLS – Ron E. McDivitt, 72, of Rock Falls, died Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2018, at his home.

He was born Sept. 23, 1946, in Covington, Tennessee, the son of Everett and Louise (Ivey) McDivitt. He married Linda Buchholtz on Sept. 26, 1964, in Rock Falls. Ron was employed at General Electric Co. in Morrison for 36 years, retiring in 2003. He had coached Little League in Morrison for 20 years, and was die-hard St. Louis Cardinals fan. Ron was an avid reader, history buff and enjoyed playing his guitar and golfing. A great joy of Ron’s was attending his grandchildren’s sporting events.

Survivors include his wife, Linda; his daughter, Judith (Brian) Olson of Rock Falls; his sister, Bonnie (Chris) Schnaiter of Seatonville; his brothers, Terry (Carolyn) McDivitt of Broomfield, Colorado, Pat (Patty) McDivitt of Milan, and Tom (LuAnn) McDivitt of Prophetstown; his seven grandchildren, Dustin Stage, Zachary McDivitt, Dylan McDivitt, Sean Ross, Conner Olson (Dakotah Smith), Collin Olson and MacKenzie Olson; and his great-granddaughter, Caylee.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Ron McDivitt in 2017; his brother Michael McDivitt; and his sister, Carol Christine McDivitt.

Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday at McDonald Funeral Home & Crematory, 1002 12th Ave., Rock Falls. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Lyndon Cemetery, with Dalmus Meeks, pastor, officiating.

A memorial will be established.
