GRAND ISLAND, Neb. — Steven R. “Steve” Britton passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2018, in Grand Island, Neb.
Steve was 60 years old, born Sept. 28, 1958, in Leavenworth, Kan. He was the son of James Alvin “Jim” Britton Jr. and Janice Irene (Brune) Britton.
Steve grew up in Princeton, and served in the Army for a few years when he was young. He worked as a truck driver for the majority of his life. Nicknamed “Caveman,” his love of the road carried into his hobbies, and he was an avid motorcycle rider and Harley-Davidson fan. Caveman was likable and easy-going, never met a stranger, and could hold an engaging conversation with anyone. He spent his spare time fishing, at the movies, and at the firing range.
Steve is survived by his two sons, Lance Britton of Grand Island, Neb., and Derek Britton of Chicago; his siblings, Susan (Britton) Lucas, Kathy Cline and Craig Cline; and his grandchildren, Ashley, Ashton and Austin Britton.
Steve was preceded in death by both his parents; two spouses, Jeanne (Webster) Britton and Amanda (Galetti) Britton; and two siblings, James “Jim” Britton and Timothy “Tim” Cline.
Per Steve’s wishes, his body was cremated and no services are to be held. The Curran Funeral Chapel assisted the family.
Caveman’s absence is already felt near and far, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
