Roundup: Ray J Dennis, Oswego East beat Nazareth to remain unbeaten

BOYS BASKETBALL

Oswego East

Ray J Dennis poured in a game-high 29 points, leading Oswego East past Nazareth 57-41 on Saturday. Sam Schultz added 12 points and Tremont Brewer chipped in with six points for the Wolves (5-0).

Oswego

Jack Kahoun tipped in a missed shot at the buzzer, hitting the game-winning shot to beat Quincy for the second straight year as the Panthers prevailed 61-59.

Kahoun scored 17 points and hit three 3-pointers for Oswego (4-1). Dylan Engler added 10 points and Will Wainscott nine on three 3-pointers.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Oswego freshmen

Brooke Tennent scored six points for the Panthers in a 33-19 loss to Naperville North. Keeley Yore scored eight points and Bridget Moran five for the Panthers in a 24-22 win over Plainfield South on Friday. Oswego also won the second game 30-26, paced by Tori Miller’s eight points.

WRESTLING

Oswego

The Panthers beat Hononegah 34-27 in a dual meet on Saturday. Winners by pin included Cole Pradel (160) and Thomas Dennehy (170). Oswego lost to Libertyville 49-15. Julian Flores (285) notched a pin. Oswego beat Plainfield North 41-25 on Nov. 29. Oswego winners by pin included Derek Torza (145), Jake Duncan (182), David Miller (195) and Flores (285).

Oswego East

The Wolves lost to Plainfield East 55-15 in a dual meet on Nov. 29. Oswego East winners by pin included David Williams (106) and Lucas McCarty (182).

BOWLING

Oswego

Oswego placed 10th out of 20 teams at the Fremd Invite on Saturday. Senior Cynthia Memming led the way with a 972 total over six games for a 162-pin average. The JV squad finished in sixth place and senior Megan Guerra was high bowler for the Panther JV team with a total of 737, a 147 average. Guerra earned a fourth-place medal for her efforts.
