Breaking: Former judge's son turns himself in on domestic battery charge

A former Will County judge’s son surrendered to authorities on felony domestic battery charges Thursday after flying in from Texas, police said.

Louis D. Goode, 33, has been wanted by the authorities since
Oct. 31 after allegedly abusing his wife, whom he was previously convicted of attacking in 2014. Goode is the son of former Judge Carla Alessio Policandriotes.

Will County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Dan Jungles said Goode turned himself in after flying from Texas. He said U.S. Marshals helped the sheriff’s office locate Goode in Texas and found out he was flying to Illinois.

Court records show Goode was in Missouri at one point, where he was charged with possession of a controlled substance.

On Aug. 23, the Will County State’s Attorney’s Office declared Goode a fugitive from justice.

Goode’s last appearance in the Will County jail was on Aug. 25.

He was released after Will County Judge Chrystel Gavlin learned an arrest warrant for a drug charge from Missouri was quashed and recalled.

Goode’s wife filed for divorce on Nov. 13.

The couple married on July 17, 2016, about two months after Goode pleaded guilty to domestic battery and unlawful restraint.
